Guide · routine and green

Do not book a monthly plan when the pool needs a recovery.

Platinum’s booking page puts “Green Pool Clean Services from $110” on a maintenance price list, next to equipment checks and storm-damage services, and apart from the $79, $89 and $99 four-weekly cards. The maintenance page also lists a green-pool clean-up as its own service, not as one of those three cards.

That is the distinction this site will use. A recurring enquiry is someone who wants the visit repeated. A green-pool enquiry is a one-off recovery. Sending the second kind to a business as if it were a retained route misdescribes the job. The closed form has separate choices for that reason.

The pages do not publish a definition of how green the water must be, how many hours a recovery takes, or whether $110 is a starting price before chemicals. “From $110” is a starting advertisement. Storm-damage cleans are another starting advertisement, from $132 on the booking page. Neither figure is an average of Gold Coast invoices.

Frequency is part of the job

A different Platinum page, for a MagnaPool clean up to 60,000 litres, says clients can choose weekly, fortnightly or four-weekly visits, and that chemicals are not included on that service. The 60,000 litre cap and the “chemicals extra” line are stated for that MagnaPool service. They are not printed on the $79 maintenance card. If your pool is larger, or it is not a MagnaPool, do not assume either the cap or the chemical rule. Ask.

Weekly at a price is not four-weekly at the same price. The MagnaPool page shows different yearly totals for 52, 26 and 13 visits and says those totals are including GST with chemicals extra. This site does not copy those yearly totals onto the $89 card. They are a different service.
